A critical aspect of addressing the climate crisis is understanding how private capital investment can help attain wide-ranging climate objectives.  A significant challenge facing donor and recipient countries, regional and multinational banks, as well as other mission-focused investors, is how to find creative approaches to accelerate private capital investment to support climate solutions.

On May 12, 2022, our Transformational Change Learning Partnership (TCLP) will host a seminar to explore new thinking on opportunities and emerging models for multi-partner finance to unlock and shape transformational investments in climate action. Drawing on a range of transformational change concepts, the webinar aims to deepen the collective understanding of how important levers, such as policies and regulations, standards, capacities, partnerships, and models, can rapidly scale financing for just and transformational climate action.

Securing resources to adequately address the shortfall in climate financing, demands policymakers and investors embark on multi-sectoral transformational change that is innovative, collaborative, and leverages different types and sources of funding.

Experts on the forefront of the climate financing sector will lead discussions, including:

  • Moderator Tim Larson, TCLP Lead Facilitator and President of Ross Strategic;
  • Archi Rastogi, Evaluation Advisor ad interim, Independent Evaluation Unit with the Green Climate Fund;
  • Christopher Head, Senior Private Sector Specialist with Climate Investment Funds;
  • Camilla Roman, Policy Specialist, Green Jobs, and Just Transition to Sustainability with the International Labor Organization (ILO);
  • Shilpa Patel, Director, Mission Investing,  ClimateWorks Foundation.

The webinar is part of a series of learning events hosted by the Transformational Change Learning Partnership (TCLP). For more information, please see the TCLP webpage or email ciftclp@worldbank.org.
