The Climate Investment Funds (CIF), will host an innovative and break through storage technologies workshop on July 14, 2021 that explores how to get the most value from energy storage to accelerate clean energy transformations.
CIF, in partnership with the US Department of Energy/Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, is hosting the virtual workshop “Keeping the Power On: The Business Case for Emerging Energy Storage Technologies” on Wednesday, July 14, 2021. Bringing together Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs), policymakers, technologists, investors, project implementors, and development professionals this workshop will explore energy storage technologies and their business case for developing country contexts and needs.
During this event, renowned and well-known speakers will share their insights and lessons from verified energy storage efforts along with their frameworks, tools, and resources to help you understand how to get the most value from energy storage. Participating speakers include Stephen Hendrickson - Program Manager, Office of Technology Transitions at the U.S. Department of Energy; Brittany Westlake - Senior Technical Leader, Low-Carbon Resources Team at the Electric Power Research Institute; Abderrahim Jamrani - Engineering Director at the Masen (Moroccan Agency for Solar Energy); and Neha Rustagi - Technology Manager, Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies at the Office US Department of Energy
The second in a series of 2021 events on the transformational potential of energy storage, this virtual workshop will focus on:
This event is part of a new global network associated with the CIF’s Global Energy Storage Program (GESP). GESP bridges technology, financing, and policy gaps to develop new storage capacity, accelerate cost reduction, support integration of variable renewable energy into grids, and expand energy access for millions of people in developing countries. GESP funding is expected to mobilize an additional $2 billion of public and private investments for these vital technologies.
If interested, you can register at the GESP event website, which has more information on the agenda, speakers and participants.
