The latest IPCC report makes it abundantly clear that incremental change is plainly inadequate given the urgency and depth of the climate crisis. Transformational change that is relevant to the magnitude of the crisis and at a speed and scale appropriate to the fundamental system change is required to bring about development pathways that are climate neutral, inclusive, equitable, and ultimately sustainable. It is exactly this kind of change that the TCLP has sought to understand and support since 2017. In a recent virtual workshop, participants identified powerful questions that can help focus and guide a range of stakeholders in designing, implementing, and evaluating transformative climate action.
During this TCLP-wide webinar we shared a synthesis of these questions before exploring their implications and application in relation to the TCLP Interest Groups, which align with new programs and associated investment criteria being developed in the build up to CoP26, including new programs supported by the Climate Investment Funds. The second half of the webinar was devoted to small-group discussions for three of the TCLP Interest Groups: Clean Energy; Resilience and Landscapes; and Just Transitions.
We invited you to contribute to a timely engagement with key questions that need to be asked, and answered, to achieve transformational change.
