The Climate Investment Funds (CIF) and event host, the African Development Bank, offered post-event appreciation to all who participated in the 2011 Partnership Forum, which was held in Cape Town, South Africa, June 24-25, 2011.

Participant stakeholders included representatives of governments, civil society, indigenous peoples, local communities, private sector, and others, who attended and helped chart the path for climate-smart development. If those unable to join the event in Cape Town, the option to join online through live webstreaming and online moderation was made available.

The Partnership Forum was a chance for CIF stakeholders to bring their knowledge, issues and accomplishments to the table. Following a series of lively and informative sessions over the two days, participants heard about the progress of CIF-supported programs and projects, including concerns and emerging lessons. See the List of Participants.

Highlights included:

  • Plenary sessions featuring stakeholder perspectives, experiences, and reflections on CIF strategic directions, results and impacts;
  • Open panel discussions that explore ways to maximize CIF impact at the country and sectoral level;
  • A learning symposium on the latest developments in climate science and technology;
  • A poster session for CIF’s 45 pilot countries to showcase their evolving CIF programs and projects.
