Dr. Barbara Buchner is Global Managing Director of Climate Policy Initiative. Named one of the 20 most influential women in climate change, Barbara advises leaders on climate, energy, and land-use investments around the world. She directs CPI’s Cities Climate Leadership Alliance and the Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance (the Lab). Cutting edge climate finance instruments from the Lab have mobilized over 2 billion US dollars for sustainable development in five years. She is also the lead author on CPI’s Global Landscape of Climate Finance, which set the benchmark for climate finance tracking. In addition, she is on the Advisory Board of the BCFN Foundation, the Evaluation Board of the World Economic Forum’s Sustainable Energy Innovation Fund, and a member of the One Planet Lab.
Lisa Da Silva is a Principal Investment Officer in IFC’s Global Upstream Department and IFC’s Global Cities Lead. As Global Cities Lead, she is responsible for identifying emerging trends impacting cities and drawing from across IFC’s global and regional industry teams to develop solutions to address pressing urban challenges; climate, resilience and smart cities are some of her focus areas. During her extensive career in IFC, she has worked across regions and industries and has consistently been at the forefront of establishing innovative new business approaches, including IFC’s Climate Business, Blended Finance, Cities Practice and Upstream Business.
Charles Reed Anderson is one of Asia’s leading technology industry innovators and thought leaders. His in-depth knowledge of emerging technologies, combined with his understanding of the market demand, provides him with a unique ability to separate industry hype from reality. His pragmatic, vendor-agnostic approach makes him a valued advisor to influential decision makers across the technology ecosystem. Charles is a prominent keynote speaker who has presented at over 200 industry events globally, where he shares his candid insights on IoT, Smart Cities, PropTech, Digital Transformation and 5G.
Prior to joining the EIB where he most recently led the Global Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Fund, Mr. Arnould was a Senior Investment Officer at the International Finance Corporation’s (IFC) SME department, which he joined after four years with IFC’s Financial Markets Group, Sub-Saharan Africa department. He was previously a Senior Investment Officer for the corporation, based in Russia. Before this, he worked in Russia for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, firstly as Investment Manager for Smolensk Regional Venture Fund and then as Principal Banker in Moscow.
Dr. Nigel Jollands has worked on sustainable energy and environmental policy for 25 years. He is now Associate Director, Lead, Policy Products Unit in the Energy Efficiency and Climate Change Department at EBRD. In this role he works at the interface between policy and finance, supporting the Bank’s green investment programme through policy dialogue with governments in the Bank’s area of operations (Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and North Africa). He also co-leads the development of the Bank’s EUR1.5 billion Green Cities Framework.
