The Global Climate Action Program (GCAP) Sub-Committee was established in 2020 to oversee the four new CIF Programs under Strategic Climate Fund (SCF), namely:
- Renewable Energy Integration Program (REI)
- Nature, People and Climate Investment Program (NPC)
- Industry Decarbonization Program
- Climate Smart Cities Program
The GCAP Sub-Committee is responsible for:
- Approving programming and pipeline priorities, operational criteria, financing terms and modalities, and allocation of resources;
- Selecting countries to participate in the programs listed above;
- Endorsing investment plans;
- Reviewing reports from Trustee and Annual Reports on the programs; and
- Ensuring complementarity between program activities and activities of other development partners.
The first Meeting of the GCAP Sub-Committee took place on Thursday, October 14, 2021
