Cameroon, situated on the western central coast of Africa along the Gulf of Guinea, is bordered by Nigeria, Chad, Central African Republic, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, and Gabon. Cameroon is vulnerable to sea-level rises and recurrent floods, with its coastal regions at the highest risk of flood mortality, while its northern regions are at the highest risk of drought mortality rates. Cameroon's vulnerability is exacerbated by the reliance of 60 percent of its population on agriculture for their livelihoods.
