Addressing the climate crisis requires multi-sectoral transformational change that is innovative, collaborative, and leverages different types and sources of funding. The gap between available public financing and the resources needed to address the causes and impacts of climate change make it important to consider how to effectively leverage our limited climate finance resources. A key challenge facing donor and recipient countries, multinational and regional development banks, and other mission-focused investors is to find creative approaches that catalyze shifts in mainstream private capital investment flows to support just climate solutions. This public TCLP webinar will explore new thinking on opportunities and emerging models for multi-partner finance to unlock and shape transformational investments in climate action.

The webinar will draw on transformational change concepts to deepen collective understanding of key levers—policies and regulations, standards, capacities, partnerships, and models—that can rapidly scale financing for just and transformational climate action. The webinar will highlight perspectives from leaders in key institutions working to transform and scale the impact of climate finance: the Green Climate Fund, the Climate Investment Funds, the International Labor Organization, and ClimateWorks Foundation.

Dr. Archi Rastogi is the Evaluation Advisor ad interim at the Independent Evaluation Unit of the Green Climate Fund. Dr. Rastogi has over 15 years of experience in various sectors, ranging from grassroots NGO to media, academia, the UN, and management consulting.

Dr. Archi Rastogi is the Evaluation Advisor ad interim at the Independent Evaluation Unit of the Green Climate Fund. Dr. Rastogi has over 15 years of experience in various sectors, ranging from grassroots NGO to media, academia, the UN, and management consulting.

He has a PhD in natural sciences, MSc in Environmental Management, and BSc in Biological Sciences. Dr. Rastogi is an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Water Policy, Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore.

Christopher Head

Christopher Head joined the CIF in early 2016 to support private sector operations across CIF Programs. Prior to joining the CIF, Chris worked with IFC’s Blended Climate Finance team, where he supported the team on business development, portfolio management and market analysis initiatives.

Christopher Head joined the CIF in early 2016 to support private sector operations across CIF Programs. Prior to joining the CIF, Chris worked with IFC’s Blended Climate Finance team, where he supported the team on business development, portfolio management and market analysis initiatives.

Before joining the World Bank Group, Chris worked at EnerNOC in San Francisco, where he worked with large commercial and industrial customers to integrate demand response and energy efficiency solutions into their businesses. Before that, he consulted for US-based electric utilities and technology firms on an array of energy topics including power market trends, regulatory challenges, and renewable energy and energy efficiency strategies.

Camilla Roman

Policy Specialist, Green Jobs & Just Transition to Sustainability

Camilla Roman is a policy specialist in the ILO’s Green Jobs Program where she provides technical assistance on a Just Transition towards sustainable economies, leading the development of policy tools, design and implementation of projects and partnerships and the Just Transition Innovation Hub. She has previously managed capacity building programs on policies for better productivity and working conditions in Small and Medium Enterprises.

Camilla Roman is a policy specialist in the ILO’s Green Jobs Program where she provides technical assistance on a Just Transition towards sustainable economies, leading the development of policy tools, design and implementation of projects and partnerships and the Just Transition Innovation Hub. She has previously managed capacity building programs on policies for better productivity and working conditions in Small and Medium Enterprises. Before joining the ILO’s HQ, Camilla focused on advancing responsible labor practices in the garment and footwear supply chains within the ILO-IFC Better Factories Cambodia (Better Work). Earlier on, she coordinated Greener Business Asia, a project supporting sustainable enterprise development in Thailand and the Philippines, and the Green Jobs initiative in India.

Shilpa Patel

ClimateWorks Foundation

Shilpa Patel comes to ClimateWorks Foundation with a development banking, project finance, and climate policy background. Prior to joining ClimateWorks, she was an independent consultant for several organizations on climate finance and was Principal Advisor to the Finance Center at the World Resources Institute.

Shilpa Patel comes to ClimateWorks Foundation with a development banking, project finance, and climate policy background. Prior to joining ClimateWorks, she was an independent consultant for several organizations on climate finance and was Principal Advisor to the Finance Center at the World Resources Institute. Shilpa started her career in the World Bank, where she worked on private sector development across a number of sectors, regions, and economies in transition, including agriculture in the Maghreb. She headed the International Finance Corporation’s work on climate strategy and metrics, including understanding the climate change impacts of its activities, as well as the impacts of climate change on private business and IFC’s operations. She has also managed IFC’s investments in petrochemicals, as well as health and education, and run an experimental incubator for environmental business. She helped launch IFC’s first green bond and worked with institutional investors and other stakeholders to define green bond criteria and standards.
