MOST Nationwide Boilermaker Programs Wins Prestigious NOVA Award

(Ann Arbor, Michigan) The Construction Innovation Forum, Inc.® (CIF) has awarded a NOVA Award to the MOST Programs of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers. MOST stands for Mobilization Optimization Stabilization and Training.

The NOVA Award, which has been referred to as the "Nobel Prize" for construction, is awarded annually to revolutionary solutions, processes or products that improve the quality, efficiency, and cost effectiveness of construction. The award was given to the MOST Nationwide Boilermaker Programs at CIF's Tenth Annual Innovation Celebration Banquet. More than 600 construction industry representatives from throughout the world attended the banquet held March 12 at the Laurel Manor in Livonia, Michigan.

Established in 1989, MOST is a joint labor trust fund of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers (IBB) and the National Association of Construction Boilermaker Employees (NACBE). The purposes of MOST are to maintain a highly skilled workforce with new skills and technology and to help provide a drug-free work place. The MOST program has eight components: Safety Training, Safety Index, Safety Interns, Drug Screening, Reserve Center (for project manning), Prescription Safety Glasses, Medical Screening and Common Arc (for certification of welders).

Other winners for 1998 include: IntelliSense^TM Maximum Strain Monitoring System, Open-Cell Bulkheads and Soff-Cut ® Early-Entry Dry-Cut Concrete Sawing System.
