For immediate release: Reservations for celebration ahead of last year's all-time high (Ann Arbor, Michigan) The Construction Innovation Forum (CIF), an international non-profit organization, announced at its annual Fall board meeting that it received a record number of 45 nominations in its annual NOVA Award competition. CIF's NOVA Award recognizes innovations in the construction industry that improve quality, efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Nominations were received from five countries: Belgium, Canada, China, England, and the United States, including 26 states. "The record number of 45 nominations for the NOVA Award is powerful testimony to its growing prestige throughout Michigan, the country and the world," said Roger Lane, Chairman of the Construction Innovation Forum. Since 1990, a total of 23 innovations have received NOVA awards. Winners of this prestigious award are selected by a distinguished panel of nine jurors who follow a four-phase investigative selection process. The 1996 NOVA Awards will be presented at the Innovation Celebration Banquet on March 13, 1997 at the Laurel Manor in Livonia, Michigan. The keynote presentation will be "How to Find and Use Innovation Worldwide." The keynote speaker is J. Peter Ellefson, Construction Manger at E.I. duPont de Nemours & Company in Wilmington, Delaware. Tickets are selling at three times the rate of the 1996 event, and it is predicted that there will be a sellout crowd of over 600 industry professionals in attendance at this year's Celebration. Tickets are $175 per person. Tables of eight are $1,200. To purchase tickets, please call the Construction Innovation Forum office at (734) 995-1855.
