Construction .... Faces Of Our Workforce is a training
video produced exclusively for the construction industry that educates
viewers about diversity in the workplace. The video was created by the
Construction Employers' Association, a not-for-profit trade association
located in Chicago, Illinois, which is committed to helping its members, as
well as others, learn to manage diversity in the workplace. Because of its long
history of training supervisors and superintendents on leadership,
communication, and supervision; CEA was asked by contractors to provide
specific tools to deal with racism and sexism in the construction community.
The video medium was chosen for this tool because of its capacity to use
anecdotal incidents to portray real life situations involving bias, racism,
and prejudice. The video has been used as a training tool by many
construction companies, city agencies, and industry organizations in Chicago
and around the country. |
