Manitowoc Engineering Company has developed a 230 ton capacity crawler mounted crane that uses a seven step sequence for self assembly. The 888 crawler mounted crane's quick set up features minimize construction cost. At the job site, a crew of three can assemble and rig the unit in one hour. A comparable crane requires a crew of six, an assist crane and three days time for assembling and rigging. The 888 accommodates a number of versatile attachments allowing it to be tailored to a wide variety of lifting and material handling needs.
The 888’s operator interface features EPIC, a patented microprocessor control system. This system was created to provide responsiveness and efficiency in load placement. EPIC’s microprocessor also provides on board diagnostics and service information.
