Description:

Because plastic pipe is combustible, its use for plumbing stacks reduces the fire integrity of fire rated walls and floors. ProSet Systems' fire stop devices prevent the spread of fire and smoke throuhg combustible plastic drainage piping when it passes through fire rated barriers. The products were invented by Mr. Ken Cornwall, a former plumbing contractor. He holds the patent rights. The fire stop devices were specifically designeed with the plumber in mind. The products are actually plumbing fittings themselves which makes them very simple and inexpensive to install. The firestop devices have been tested at Underwriters Laboratory in accordance with ASTM E-814 test standard for penetrations and are accepted by all major building codes. The systems can be applied in either concrete or wood structures.
