Description:

The BakerBilt Eurosteel Floor System uses steel fiber reinforcing and is designed to reduce random cracking and the need for control joints in concrete floors cast on grade. A special blowing machine, similar to a wood chipper and called a "blastmachine," blows steel fibers and superplasticiser into the concrete mix to ensure that the steel fibers are randomly distributed. The main innovations claimed are the ability to pour seamless floor slabs that have panel dimensions up to 150 feet by 150 feet and to eliminate traditional control jointing. These advantages are achieved by applying a systems approach to design, materials, and quality control. Quality control covers soil support, aggregates, mixing, placing, and finishing. The Eurosteel Floor System is patented in both the United States of America and Europe.
