Description:

LRFD is a procedure for designing steel buildings, and it may replace the more traditional allowable stress design techniques. LRFD provides a uniform probability of failure under various loading conditions. It uses separate factors for each load and for the resistance. Because the different factors reflect the degree of uncertainty of different loads and of the accuracy of predicted strength, a uniform probability of failure is possible.
