Description: |
A heavy-lift helicopter was used to carry aloft a fifteen thousand pound reel of primary cable weighing 11 pounds per foot at the Saturn Corporation Manufacturing Complex in Spring Hill, Tennessee. The cable was anchored at its free end and, by movement of the helicopter, placed into a roof mounted cable tray. This method significantly reduced time and allowed a schedule improvement in the energization of the primary power system throughout the site and an earlier than expected termination of temporary site power with little disruption of ongoing construction activities. |
