Stone & Webster Engineering Corporation developed and implemented a Computer Aided Construction (CAC) System that integrates construction planning with estimate and schedule generation and project management tools. It is used to conduct 3-D construction process simulation by developing construction activity sequences of modeled plants, to conduct automatic quantity takeoff of modeled materials and equipment, to link project schedule generation to 3-D construction sequence models, to manage bulk material installation with trial warehouse withdrawal simulations, and to report construction progress by identification of completed components in the model. |
